Air Bubbles Frozen in Antarctic Lake
Description
Lake Druzhby is located in the Vestfold Hills, Antarctica and is about 60km from Australia's Davis research station - This picture was taken during a field trip to Trajer Ridge in June 2014. The photo was taken at about midday, with the winter twilight providing a colourful backdrop to the glassy surface of the frozen freshwater lake. A flash was used to highlight the bubbles trapped in the ice as the water froze.
